Allison Transmission’s newest UK recruit has joined the company at an exciting time

Joining Allison Transmission just a few weeks after two acquisitions significantly advanced the company’s electrification strategy, new UK coach and bus market development manager, Jade Noble, is at the core of industry conversations about its electric future.

From day one, Jade has been fielding calls of interest in response to Allison’s announcement of the purchase of Vantage Power and AxleTech’s electric vehicle systems division in April.

“The first of many pleasant surprises on entering the bus and coach sector has been how open everyone is,” she says.

“The strong level of feedback and what fleet operators are prepared to share is really helpful to a company like Allison – particularly at a time where there is a great deal of certainty that the future is electric, but there is also a lot of uncertainty around how fleets will get there and by when.

“Society has its expectations, but as an industry, we have to work together to find the ways that will actually work. Allison’s product development teams in Indianapolis and London want to hear about the experiences and concerns of customers in the UK – our conversations are fed directly back.

“I’m very optimistic by what I see coming out of Allison, not just the e-axle technology, but our wider capabilities and potential for new products and services in the field of electric propulsion systems, thanks to having Vantage Power on board. It’s great for the UK market that a British company, with an already strong knowledge of UK operators, has joined the family.”

For the time being though, many UK bus and coach operators are asking: What we can do with our current product today?

Says Jade: “Allison has some really good solutions, such as our xFE range of transmissions with FuelSense 2.0 software. Fleets already running our fully automatic transmissions – with ADL, Optare or Wrightbus buses with the Allison T2100 Series transmission, for example – can upgrade their existing transmissions to an xFE-equivalent model and enjoy a lower total cost of ownership through fuel savings.

If you are a fleet running Allison transmissions and you haven’t spoken to Jade yet, or you would like to talk about the benefits of Allison fully automatic transmissions, please get in touch via email.
