Stagecoach East Midlands has made a £3m investment into 11 new double-deckers on the Nottinghamshire Pronto service.
The new Euro 6 vehicles will be replacing the current single-deckers from 19 June and include USB ports, wi-fi, comfortable e-leather seats.
Michelle Hargreaves, MD at Stagecoach East Mids, says: “We are excited to be doubling capacity on the Pronto service, and are sure this will be welcome news to the many commuters and student. We hope this investment will encourage more people to use the buses, which will help to reduce pollution and congestion in the area.
“The launch event promises to be an exciting day, and we encourage everyone to come and look at one of the new buses, find out more about the service, and grab a slice of pizza with us.”
To celebrate the launch of the arrival of the new buses, an Italian-themed event will be held in Nottingham on 19 June at the Old Market Square from 1100-1500hrs.
