Zero-emission LDV V80-based minibus possible

LDV agent Pelican Engineering and Excel Conversions can offer a zero-emission minibus built on the EV80 base vehicle.

The EV80 is shipped from manufacturer SAIC’s base in China and it is converted to PCV specification by Excel.

It has 56kWh of energy storage, and with a consumption of in the region of 3km per kWh, Pelican MD Richard Crump says the dealer is confident that it will deliver almost 100 miles per charge.

“The cost of the base EV80 is £62,000, but an £8,000 grant is available, so in effect that becomes £54,000,” says Mr Crump. The conversion work to produce an accessible minibus adds £10,000 to that.

By comparison, the same van in diesel form is available for £14,500.
