EU regulations are better’

Regarding the smart tacho news story last week [routeone/News/13 June], a large number of PCV operators have never stopped using British drivers’ hours and record keeping regulations where you can drive for five and a half hours without a break, provided you carry a duty card rota bus timetable with you.

Having driven duties where I carried, among other passengers, school children all over Dorset, I felt shattered by the work.

The EU regulations are better for drivers, but traffic congestion in this country is making it more difficult to maintain schedules within legal driving periods.
